Made from 3140 buttons.
Buttons are in our daily lives helping us fasten our pants, coats, button up/down shirts, and more. If each button were made from Zirconium Oxide ceramic, the buttons would last a long time and hold up to allow you to keep wearing your favorite buttoned garment. Due to commercial nuclear power generating more than 90% of zirconium metal production it is a material that is easily sustainable. About 60% of the button that we use come from China. For each 100 button holes, a female worker is paid 25¢. Usually, these women can make 800 to 900 button holes per day, meaning that they get paid about $2.00 - $2.25, which would not be sustainable to live.
